ICYMI: Let’s Get the Show on the Road

ICYMI: Let’s Get the Show on the Road

Break a leg!

The show must go on!

It ain’t over….OK, OK, we get it, enough with the theater lingo. We’ll just get right to the opening act.

Spring is in the air and that means high schools across the country are gearing up to put on unforgettable performances. We’re talking concerts, musicals, plays - you name it, and we’ve got the lineup for you.

We kick things off in Colorado where the Salida High School drama team just wrapped up the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Arlene Shovald from The Mountain Mail shares:

…7 p.m. today in the SHS auditorium, 26 Jones Ave. with additional performances at 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.  Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students and are available at GoFan.Co. Read more here.

New York, New York! The Saratogian is making the Shenendehowa High School performance of Mamma Mia front-page news. Staff reports:

Shenendehowa Musical Company will soon present its annual spring musical theater production, Mamma Mia, marking the high school’s first live theater performance since 2020.

But don’t forget those tickets!

Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on March 17 and 18 as well as 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on March 19 at the Shenendehowa High School East Auditorium, located at 970 Route 146 in Clifton Park. Ticket prices are $15 for adults and $10 for students and seniors, and are available for purchase at the door or online at gofan.co/shenmusical. Read more here

And we close things out with the Queen of Soul herself as Ricardo Morris from The Pulse reports:

For years it has been rumored that The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin, performed at Howard High School in the 1950's or 60’s.

Just six weeks before Ms. Franklin’s apparent appearance, the Howard High students had taken part in the sit-ins at the local dime stores to encourage integration of such facilities. You won’t want to miss this incredible performance of Aretha’s biggest hits and some of her fan’s album favorites, great show(wo)manship, and an amazing time grooving down memory lane as Aretha returns to Howard.

Tickets can be purchased at Gofan.co.
